6 Cheap Ways To Make Your Dog’s Day

November 1, 2021

Thanksgiving is just around the corner. We are so thankful for our canine companions! Dogs are loving, loyal, and playful, not to mention totally adorable. They also serve as living reminders that sometimes the little things really are the best things in life. It doesn’t take much to make Fido happy. Here, a vet lists some budget-friendly ways to get that tail going!

Playtime

Along with offering Fido a great workout, playing also provides him with beneficial mental stimulation. Try to get into the habit of carving out at least a few minutes of doggy playtime every day. This will keep your furry pal both happy and healthy!

Training

Did you know that many of our canine buddies actually like to learn new things? Mastering a new trick or command can boost your pooch’s confidence. And too, pleasing their humans is something dogs strive for. You can see how adorably happy Fido gets when he earns praise for being a good boy!

Walks

Daily walks are so much more than just potty breaks for Man’s Best Friend. Dogs pick up a lot of information from scents. Your pup satisfies his natural curiosity about his surroundings by sniffing around. Scents also offer him mental stimulation. You should walk your pet at least once a day, even if you have a yard for your furry buddy to patrol and chase squirrels in. Try not to think of taking Fido out as a chore. Both you and him will benefit from the exercise and fresh air!

Comfy Beds

One small luxury that can make a huge difference is good bedding. Fido will spend as much as half of his time sleeping, so having a good bed to doze off in is important. We usually recommend orthopedic beds for larger dogs.

New Toys

Fido is always super cute when he gets a new plaything. And there’s no need to break the bank buying dog toys. You can make a homemade rope pull by braiding together an old towel or tee-shirt that’s been cut into strips.Instant tail wags!

Affection

Paying attention to him is the best way to get Fido’s tail going. That special bond we form with our canine pals must be nurtured!
