Stanley is a frisky, fun-loving 10 year old Cairn terrier who has been part of our MVC family since he was a young pup. When he was 6 years old he was diagnosed with diabetes mellitus using blood and urine testing and physical examination. Thanks to the commitment of his family to provide insulin injections twice a day for the rest of his life as well as frequent laboratory monitoring, he has been stable for the last 4 years. In 2018 and then again in 2019 he ruptured first his right, then six months later his left anterior cruciate ligament in each knee causing severe pain and lameness. Fortunately after surgical repair of both of his knees this brave little guy is able to walk thousands of steps every day with his favorite person in a park near his home. Yes, he has his own pedometer!
